GIA Weekly News – January 28, 2009

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Hi Creators and Big Thinkers!

Welcome once again to all the new subscribers this week!

As you can see, we have changed our weekly newsletter format a bit. We are now housing our weekly news on our website. Each week, you will receive a text only e-mail notice that the new html newsletter has been posted on our site. Please let us know if you have any questions at all.

Weekly News:

I just got back from Christine Kloser’s Freedom Formula event in LA. The guest speakers (Marianne Williamson, Neale Donald Walsch, and David Neagle) were amazing! I know that she will be offering recordings of the event in the future and I would highly recommend grabbing them when they come out.

And another friend and colleague, Melanie Benson Strick, CEO of Success Connections, Inc, has recently released something that I think will profoundly change your business this year. This program is designed specifically for mid to high 6 and 7 figure business owners who have already achieved a significant amount of success and who want to leap into the 7 and even 8 figures in their business. It’s unlike anything I have ever seen and I know if you start putting the CEO Factor ™ to work in your business and your life, you will see a dramatic shift. I’m planning to attend her event April 3-5 in Laguna Beach, CA and I think it would be great for you too. Check out the event here and I hope to see you there!

To your success,

Sheri McConnell
CEO of the Global Institute of Associations

GIA Member: Life Preservers

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

Life Preservers assists caregivers in charting a new course through the waves of change that grief and loss bring.  We help caregivers shift their beliefs about death from those of fear and dread to acceptance and celebration.

We provide teleseminars on a variety of topics, caregiver retreats and summer camp, tips booklets for coping and a library of resources for grief recovery, including a complimentary online newsletter called In the Flow.

Founder and President, Ann Leach, is a certified grief recovery specialist and a former counselor, as well as a professional speaker and trainer.  She is the author of multiple articles and other publications for caregivers.  By the time she was 12, Ann experienced the deaths of her father and both grandfathers.  An only child, Ann lost her mother and grandmothers by age 31.  These losses launched her spiritual and practical journey to wholeness, a path she shares with others in her work at Life Preservers.

GIA Member: Natl Assn of Independent Writers and Editors

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

The National Association of Independent Writers and Editors (NAIWE) was formed in response to the need for a professional association that comprehensively embraced both commercial and literary writers and editors. The association is focused on linking independent professionals with the information, support, and resources needed to build a thriving business. We believe that entrepreneurship provides the best job security and benefits available, and we want to support our members on the path to success.

Membership in NAIWE provides many tangible benefits, including individual member websites linked to a searchable database, access to legal advice, and much more. Because of these outstanding benefits, NAIWE is predicted to become the largest global association for freelance writers and editors by 2015, with membership an automatic rite of passage as new professionals enter the field. This will provide unprecendented opportunity for networking and negotiating additional benefits for members, placing them on the fast track to the business of their dreams.

The National Association of Independent Writers and Editors sponsors the annual Words Matter Week during the first full week in March. Words Matter Week features daily speakers, book giveaways, and a charity challenge. You may read more about it at http://www.NAIWE.com and become a fan on Facebook at http://tinyurl.com/naiwe-fb-fan.

Over here at Sheri McConnell Companies, Inc. The audio is about thirty minutes long and there are some really, really great nuggets in there and a few ah-has along the way!

“I am very pleased that you launched GIA.  I have encountered several organizations that serve my business needs.  In comparison to GIA, I am yet to find another association that provides the same level of ENTREPRENEURIAL focus to OWNERS of associations.  So, well done and thank you for giving association owners an alternative (and better) choice.”
